Summer Soccer Information

APRIL 13, 2024

As the seasons change, it's time to turn our attention to the upcoming Summer Soccer Program at John Jay. Open to rising 10th through 12th graders, the John Jay Soccer program invites participation in both Summer Training and Summer League Games. Training sessions will be held at John Jay High School, while League Games will be hosted at Lakeland High School and Ossining High School. Enrolled players will have the opportunity to attend all training sessions and are assured a spot on a roster for three (3) Summer League Games, reflecting the number of participants that typically turnout. Additionally, each player will receive a reversible John Jay Soccer scrimmage vest, to be worn at every training session and match.

Enrollment in the Summer Soccer Program costs $125.00, payable to the “Patriot Boys Soccer Booster Club”. Payments can be submitted to Coach Seipp at John Jay High School in Room M4 during periods 3, 4, 5, or 7, or alternatively, at the outset of the first Summer session attended. This cost covers all training sessions, a minimum of three (3) Summer League Games, and a reversible John Jay Soccer scrimmage vest.

If you wish to sign up, first we need you to register via this Google Form. This will help us build an email distribution list of players who want to participate. Additionally, you must print, fill out, and return both league registration forms, in order to be cleared to play in each of the leagues that we participate in. As with the check, the filled out forms must be submitted to Coach Seipp at John Jay High School in Room M4 during periods 3, 4, 5, or 7, so that they can be submitted to the individual leagues in advance of their onset.

In previous years, we've encountered difficulties by requesting players and parents to declare their availability for the entire summer as early as late-May, with mixed outcomes. It is understandable that it is unrealistic to expect individuals to accurately predict their availability months in advance. Therefore, we're adopting a fresh strategy this year. We'll be distributing weekly Google Forms for players/parents to update their availability for the upcoming week. This approach promises to provide us with more precise and relevant information about player availability, allowing us to accommodate unexpected commitments that arise during the summer months, which might not have been foreseen in the spring.

We are very excited for what the Summer Soccer Program holds this year, and cannot wait to get started!
