Patriot Alumni Playing Semi-Pro
MAY 1, 2024
The John Jay Soccer Program wants to recognize several of its former players for earning spots on the local semi-professional Kingston Stockade FC Men's team! The Stockade play in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), a national semi-professional league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, and competes in the North Atlantic conference of the NPSL's Northeast region. The club prides themselves on being a "pioneer in the "open source soccer" movement – bringing transparency & data to the process of building lower level soccer clubs to help grow and change the game from the bottom up. " There are currently five former Patriots suiting up for Stockade FC this Spring; a fantastic and noteworthy accomplishment!
Those former players include Alberto Molina, who is set to graduate from the University of Rhode Island, where he played Division I soccer for four years, this month. Alberto graduated from John Jay in 2020 after playing Center Back and Center Midfield for the Patriots, and earning All Section honors in the process. Alberto is a returning member to the Stockade roster this Spring, after starting at Center Back for them for much of last season.
Class of 2019 graduate Matt Rabadi also returns for a second season with the Stockade, after finishing his collegiate playing career at Manhattanville College by way of Sage College. Matt manned the John Jay midfield at the Varsity level in 2017 and 2018, earning All League designation in his time with the Patriots.
Mark Tricarico is a new name suiting up with the Stockade, after finishing his collegiate playing career at Western Connecticut State University. Mark played Center Back for the Patriots Varsity team for three seasons, earned All Section honors, and graduated in 2019. A potential Center Back duo of Tricarico and Molina is something we are hotly anticipating this season!
Another new face in Kingston is 2019 All Section recipient and Section I League 1-A Player of the Year Award winner, Ray Troche. Ray started at Center Midfield for three seasons at John Jay before heading to Division II College of Saint Rose, and looks to be an absolute force in the middle of the field for the Stockade this Spring.
The youngest member of the quintet of former Patriots is Zach Rabadi, who is back for his second season with the Stockade this Spring after starting with their Futures Squad two seasons ago. Zach was the Section I League 1-A Player of the Year Award winner in 2021, where he also earned All State honors as a Senior at John Jay. Zach is wrapping up his Sophomore year at Marist College, where he is a member of the Men's Soccer team.
The entire John Jay Soccer Program would like to congratulate and wish these five young men the best of luck competing with the Kingston Stockade this season! We are looking to have a program-wide visit for one of the Stockade's Home matches this Spring, so be on the lookout for information regarding that!
