John Jay Soccer Partners with STAT Sports

Beginning in the Fall of 2025, the John Jay Varsity Soccer team will be partnering with STAT Sports to utilize their GPS trackers to help us track player movement.

After participating in a Demo meeting, it is clear to the coaching staff that these devices are incredibly useful for both players and coaches, providing performance data to help us plan training, monitor fitness, and prevent injuries. These devices track key metrics such as Total Distance Covered, Sprint Speed & Acceleration, High-Intensity Runs, Load Monitoring, Heat Maps, and Positional Data.

By using these GPS trackers, we hope to better optimize training, track progress over time, and make data-driven decisions to improve player performance. These devices are standard amongst NCAA and professional soccer clubs, and will assuredly be making their way into widespread use with high school and youth club teams in the near future, as well. We want to try and stay ahead of the curve, by piloting these with our Varsity team during this Summer and next Fall.

As we continue to push for the highest standards in our program, we want to encourage our returning Varsity players to invest in a STATSports GPS tracker for the upcoming fall season. Again, these devices provide performance data that will allow us to monitor fitness, measure workload, and track player development with greater precision. We feel that incorporating it into our team will be an absolute game-changer.
