≡ General Information
The John Jay Soccer Speed & Agility Running Clinic is designed to refine running technique, enhance speed and agility, and reduce injury risks under the guidance of John Jay Track & Field Coach Brent DeVittorio and the John Jay Soccer Coaching Staff.
A key focus is injury prevention through proper mechanics, addressing common issues like hamstring, calf, and quadricep strains that have affected our program. Coach DeVittorio’s sessions will help players develop efficient, biomechanically sound running styles to minimize strain on muscles and joints.
This clinic also integrates track-specific sprinting drills, acceleration techniques, change-of-direction exercises, and plyometrics to enhance speed and agility. By blending soccer-specific agility drills with proven track training methods, we aim to improve multidirectional movement, explosiveness, and overall athleticism.
Our ultimate goal is to develop well-rounded athletes who can move with efficiency, speed, and precision while staying healthy. Through this collaboration, we’re equipping our players with the tools to elevate their game and sustain long-term success on the field.
